The best way to holiday in Tassie ...
is to find really good accommodation through Jackson's Emporium (like McCauley's, Kelleher's or Arcadia) and make that a base for day trips.

Built in 1856, this sandstone shop was the Centre of Commerce in colonial Hamilton.
Now re-opened as an interesting and different kind of department store.
We specialize in Derwent Valley products and Visitor services.

Our two cottage properties, McCauley's (c1846) and Kelleher's (c1835), are both genuine heritage listed stone cottages, with old world charm preserved and modern facilities to 4 star standard - not flats.
Arcadia Holiday House is a modern 3 bedroom house with all mod cons (including broadband internet access) for one or more families, on 1.7 acres with a large garden.

Many extras are included with our accommodation properties, from free internet at the Emporium to picking your own strawberries, raspberries and mulberries in season.

There is much more to see and do when you visit Jackson's Emporium, such as specialty Tasmanian art timbers, unique burl sculptures, internet cafe, fabulous meals and local food products available to take away, a professional massage is available and lots of visitor information.

To see the current weather conditions in Tasmania, visit the Bureau of Meteorology radar.
